Dave Love hat sich heute nochmal gemeldet: Moundford Miniatures bringt jetzt auch den Kreuzer HMS Belfast heraus. Bauzustand frühe 60er, also nach dem großen Umbau. Bemalung entweder RN Grau oder Tarnbemalung (wobei ich mir im Moment nicht ganz sicher bin, wie die damals aussah).

Laut WEYER 1960-64 i.W. "nur" ein Deck höhere "Kommando"-Brücke und Haupt- und Fockmast als Gittermasten.

Thanks für die Hilfe! Aussehen nach Umbau ist soweit klar. Bin besonders auf das Type 960M Radar gespannt, hab ich bisher auf noch keinem meiner Modelle erkennbar dargeszellt (was in unserem Maßstab allerdings auch eine Herausforderung darstellt!).

Missverständnis, hatte mehr die Bemalung gemeint. "Camo Finish" (also Tarnbemalung) in den frühen 60ern? Auf den verfügbaren Bildern (alle schwarz/weiß) ist das leider kaum zu erkennen. Damals war doch eigentlich bei neuen und modernisierten Schiffen das RN Grey normal.

Liegt die Belfast zur Zeit nicht mit einer --wahrscheinlich fiktiven WW2-- Tarnbemalung in London? Glaube ,das mal gesehen zu haben.

Dann also als RN Schiff und auch alternativ als Museumschiff.

Zur Frage nach der Belfast: So sah sie im August 2015 aus. Und da die Überschrift Flugzeugträger der Royal Navy ist auch noch ein Bild der Q.E. in Rosyth.


Dank auch an Herrn Ohm, der uns gezeigt hat wie Bilder hier eingefügt werden können.

Wie ich höre, soll der Inhaber von Mountford gewechselt haben. Auf jeden Fall ist jetzt die Internetseite der 1:1250 Modelle ein Genuss. Nun sind alle Modelle nach Erscheinungsdatum geordnet zu finden.

... stimmt, war eben mal bei Dockside. Das macht jetzt Matthew Tarrant. Der Name kommt mir irgendwie bekannt vor, war der nicht mal mit 1:700 Modellen in Kassel?

Bin mal gespannt, was das jetzt in der Vorbildauswahl zukünftig bedeutet, mit der Auswahl von Dave Love war ich eigentlich immer sehr zufrieden.

Fällt mir gerade ein, würde es nicht langsam Sinn machen, hier ein eigenes Thema unter "Hersteller" aufzumachen? Wenn ja, wie geht das?

Many thanks for your email this morning.

Yes you are correct, I have taken over the Mountford range with regards to selling and production. This happened in March and I am still getting to grips with the products and contents etc. As you may know Dave at Mountford was very ill last year, which also stopped him from attending the 2015 Kassel show. As a result, he has taken a step back from Mountford and entered semi retirement.

What does this mean for Mountford? In essence not much. As I have said I now handle the selling and marketing of the range, plus the web site and all the production. I am still learning and some delays have happened with updating the web site etc. However with each day these improve.

I still use the same painters and staff that Dave used when he was producing the range and also new models will still be mastered by Dave. So as you can see very little has changed. I have a list of models I wish to produce, and once everything is up to date, I hope to release at least a model a month. Dave also still has a massive input into model selection and he still has many great ideas and projects we hope to work on together. Since taking over the range we have released a new model of the USS Oriskany c.1950, the Altmark, four versions of the Royal Navy's Leander Class Frigates, and three US Stealth ships. All of these are up on the web site and in stock. Further releases will follow soon.

The website now has my full contact details showing as well as the ones listed at the end of this email.

I hope over time, that collectors will notice a slight changes here and there but I intend these to be for the better and I know Dave is fully supportive of any of these changes that may happen.

Zu neuen Projekten hält man sich wohl noch bedeckt. Es fehlen noch Umbau-Varianten von HERMES, EAGLE und ARK ROYAL.

Kreuzer Cumberland, Mauritius, Newcastle/Scheffield n.U. mit Gittermasten wären analog Belfast n.U. auch noch ganz schön. Können natürlich auch gerne von Neptun oder Spidernavy kommen!

MM433KP HMS Hermes c.1966. The price of Hermes fully assembled and painted is £49.95 and in kit form £34.00

I have attached pictures of HMS Hermes plus an extra picture of our next release. This picture show Hermes in 1966 next to herself in 1981. The model has been mastered be Mountford's in house sculptor. The model is resin with white metal parts with decal and photo etch detail. The 1981 version will be released later this month. When released I expect the prices will be the same as the 1966 version.

I am taking pre orders for MM433KP HMS Hermes now in order to guarantee receipt of models from the first batch.
